We are offering what you want
We are doing what you want to do
If we gave you free rein to describe your perfect job, what would you include?
- “I would want to sit face to face with people in their struggles, and be free to offer them the hope of the Gospel.”
- “I wouldn’t want to do it alone. Community seems really important to me if I am going to do this long term… And it would be super cool if that community were committed to mutual personal growth in Christ.”
- “I would want to practice with some older, more mature counselors, who could mentor me and guide me.”
- “I would love to somehow partner with local churches. I would want to help create communities that supported and encouraged my clients in their growth.”
- “I sure want to make a decent salary. I know this isn’t a get rich business, but I want to be able to take care of myself and my family.”
- “I would love for someone to help me get licensed…”
You just described working at the Barnabas Center. Since 1989, we have been offering that kind of ministry to counselors who want to change a city, as well as help change one life at a time. Barnabas started in Charlotte, NC and has launched branch offices in Richmond, VA and in the Triad of NC (Winston-Salem/Greensboro/High Point). This counseling/teaching/training ministry partners closely with local churches, creating a supportive community around the ministry and its staff.
So if you want to stay focused on what God is doing in the room, if you want to practice with a team of like-hearted, like-minded counselors, if you want to work in a ministry that thinks bigger than the office (but sure values what happens there)… explore our website and be sure to read our Model of Change paper found here.
